We are aware that some of you may be coming in RVs/Trailers to the event. Unfortunately, the City of Fort Saskatchewan does not allow RV/Trailer parking on city streets or public parking areas for any more than 24 hours, and never to sleep in.

Your Best Option is to book a Camp Site at the Turner Park Campground: http://www.fortsask.ca/ftsk_Parks_Trails/ftsk_TurnerParkCampground.aspx. It has amenities and overflow should the main site be booked.

If you have questions or concerns about the City ByLaws, here is a link to the site: http://www.fortsask.ca/ftsk_City_Government/ftsk_Bylaws.aspx?id=1579#4, and their phone number 780.992.6146.

Yeah Figstoy, it took a business day before I heard back from the guy.

Ya nothing yet... as long as I get my answer by Friday I'm good... in the mean time if anybody else has questions, post up, I'll see if I can ask him, if I get him on the phone.

So yeah, Rick ended up telling be call the Development/permit people and ask about a "Special use permit" and that's a no go, the guy over there, Chris... says if they let me they have to let everybody, even at other events.

So a note to all you other people... even a small trailer, even a 4ft utility trailer is a no no.

LOL should have asked Figstoy... I already tried Chris Enders from Public Works about the Special Event permit. This is really the only option, the camp ground.

wow.. he said had I been an organizer, and was constantly bringing stuff in and out of the trailer then yes, could get a permit...

basically if I want the trailer to stay in the Ft... I'll have to pay th e campground fees and tuck it out behind the pool in the overflow...

Silly bylaws... I see the no RV thing... but a utility trailer... heh.. ok a very large utility trailer..
HmmmmmmM

Oh well out bylaws up here are silly out front where Fig's works.. you can't park a vehicle longer than 20ft.. my dad's old 96 ram is like 22ft bumper to bumper..

This is when you can start to interpret laws and probably get away without much of a hassle.

You could possibly move the trailer every day, even just a little bit and go along as interpreting the law differently than it is stated. If you get a fine/ticket for it you could probably fight it and and have a reasonable chance of having it dropped.

But to keep it as easy as possible for Fraga staff, might as well just park it elsewhere.

Ya.. if I wanted to park in residential and walk to fraga I could do the move it thing.. but at the event it's all marked parking, and I would take up 5 stalls... and thus get a ticket.. he implied that Sat/Sun unless he has his guys out on bicycle icould probably get away with it... but wed-fri most likely not.

MEO's don't have full police powers. They cannot arrest nor use hand-guns, but they can issue tickets much like the Sheriffs in Strathcona County.
