Anyone here have a use for an entire blade center w/ten blades ? Each blade dual socket xeon (various models, but all matched in each physical blade). Each blade is 8GB ram or more. No drives included, but the trays are. All PSUs in the blade center replaced a year ago. All option cards inluded. Its friggin huge, heavy and loud. Good startup webhost solution, ESX cluster or a buncha game servers, or just put yer pr0n on it !

Anyways, it's a lot of detailed specs - If someone is interested (for real) I will provide details.

Here's a random Google image - http://www.ictcompany.com/products/3Com ... fig1_1.jpg

Asking people to make offers and them having rejected doesn't win you any favors. Post a price and then allow people to work around that. If you want to treat the sale as an auction, use eBay.

If you are not interested, seriously, why get involved ?

And perhaps, read THIS posting again, I didn't ask for any sort of offer on this one. I asked if anyone would be interested - mainly because something like this would have a very small target audience that WOULD be interested in buying it, and of those people, they would know a thing or two about it and make an educated offer via private discussion anyways.

And seriously ? Telling me I'm not winning favors by rejecting Hawks blatantly bogus offer ? Get real pal.

Besides, usually when someone posts an item forsale WITH an asking price (OBO or NOT) someone that is interested usually PMs and the bargaining begins - most of the time of which the buyer is trying to low-ball anyways. So how is ME asking for OFFERS on something (other thread, not this one) any different ?

You people, forum police - with issues.

So you expect people to read your mind and come up with a number? Right....

With your attitude, I wouldn't be surprised if you're not getting squat for inquiries. Not everyone within the Frag community is going to know what the price of a server will be. Maybe some of the Frag staff and a few IT guys I know within the community. If the server is lacking drives and requires SAS drives, those servers will sit on your table/bench collecting dust as a typical gamer will not be able to afford SAS drives.

Hawk has his way of getting his point across, but I am merely offering constructive criticism. You'll only find yourself being frustrated if you don't offer a price to start with.

He's had no issues with his other FS thread for the poweredge servers. You are right, most gamers aren't going to know what he is trying to sell or what it's worth, and they are not going to be the target market obviously with that being said. As you said, those few who would know, are his target market and since they will know they can make an offer. It's not hard to go onto ebay, see what the median is and negotiate from there.

I am starting to think a few people in this community have too much pride or maybe something else, there are no rules established on these forums that dictate how a buy or sell thread should be constructed and what it should include. Also, filling up the thread with these responses isn't the best way to go about things either, if you have an issue with the seller's posting then pm him and talk about it there, instead of turning the buy/sell thread into a drama-tastic debacle.

Contrary to telling me what is going to frustrate me, I've sold 7 out of 10 servers in the other thread.

I'm far from frustrated.
