It's easy to organize seating for 10+ people, if anyone takes a seat in that row you can go up to them at the venue and ask if they wouldn't mind moving so your group can be together, messaging them on the frag site works too. Also 5 and 5 back to back it's much easier for everyone to talk, the guy on one end of a row of 10 has to walk all the way to the other end to talk to that person. 5 back to back anyone can talk to anyone without more than a raised voice.

Will the Team Fortress 2 tournament allow all weapons? Or will we be restricted to vanilla weapons?

I'm assuming we can still wear our silly hats and the such.

That's a great question actually, also if there are going to be multiple maps are we allowed to change loadouts? It's not likely I'll be in a tourney (no team) but I do change my gear for different maps (heck, sometimes between spawns).

Vanilla is okay if that's what evens things up but some classes will have to practice function times for weapons and the like...

As per the email that just came out the other day: "Rules for the tournament will be posted in the next few days rules and formats will be similar too last year."

It is pretty standard for custom weapons to be disabled in Team Fortress tournaments.

I don't see why hats which are purely cosmetic couldn't be used. It probably all depends on what is possible with the plugins that would enforce them.

I have two different mods for restricting 'unlocks' one which will just disallow their use, and you have to redo your loadouts, and another which will replace their attributes, sounds, and models with the basic items... I'll likely use the second one, as it will make things easier for people... There would be no need to restrict hats and such, and UI customizations I believe should be fine, as those are available to anybody who wishes to modify them to their own liking.
