Still, sometimes all it takes is one person, downloading 2-3 files off torrents. And why torrent while at fraga, chances it will be on one of the many file servers setup. I know ill be running a small one off my main comp using Filezilla.

With 400 Mbit/s down and 20 Mbit/s up this year we should be fine. I downloaded a couple episodes of my favorites TV series at Fraga last year via torrents (were aired during the event and I wanted to watch them!). I made sure not to seed anything back though heh. The thing is, it is never just one person. Also, the connection is not 400Mbit/20Mbit - it is 4 x 100/5 connections in a round robin load balancing configuration. The potential exists for multiple people to connect on the same connection and saturate it with torrents while screwing everyone else on that connection over. Just do us all a favour, and don't torrent.

I will have my server there with all the usual, and more, I will be downloading via 3G stick the shows that will be airing during the event, so feel free to check my server for those latest episodes rather than your torrent sites...

The only other option would be to download them to my home server and then download them from there to Frag, which in terms of download speed/time would be about the same. If you're only downloading a torrent and not uploading, isn't it exactly the same as just downloading from someone else?

In terms of total amount of data moved torrenting and downloading from a webserver are almost the same but the way connections are handled are much different. Torrents open many connections to multiple ip addresses at the same time. This causes multiple problems especially when a large number of people in the same lan are torrenting. A small torrent packet takes almost as much work (slightly less transmit time) as a large data packet. Combine the large number of these small packets with maintaining multiple connections (mor, ftpe overhead) combined with isp traffic shapping which looks for torrent like traffic and throttles client connections to maintain service to other customers. If you can torrent it to a home server and then download from a web server connection (http, ftp) you are saving the network and routers at frag a lot of pain. Although any external downloading should be kept to a minimum.

Wow, and I thought I had problems.

Getting away from all this arguing, A good tip for first timers would be to park around the back of the building, the doors are closer to the venue

If your friends are not at Frag, do they really deserve to be your friends? In all seriousness, wait until you get home to download those shows and save us the hassle of tracking you down and disabling your network port, thus causing you to come crying to me when you have no internet, and me having to ridicule you in public.
