I've got a dlink DIR-655. It is hardware version B1, with firmware 2.00NA. My main computer is hooked up to on a wired connection, and I have no problems. But recently, the wireless has started cutting out in the afternoon typically. Any wireless devices will be disconnected, and can't reconnect, no broadcast or nothing. I go into the manual wireless setup, turn it off, turn it back on, and it'll work for another day or so.
It has been set on mixed 802.11n, g and b. ( I am switching it to just n and g now, as a test) Auto channel scan enabled, channel width is 20mhz. WPA-personal security mode...
any ideas why it would start cutting out? It was working fine for a few months, and only recently started having problems. In the logs, the first few pages are just "UDHCPD sending OFFER of 192.168.0.101 " etc..

I have had similar problems with my DIR-655 and the wireless cutting out. I've now set it to n/g only. Any other settings I should also change? Thanks in advance. I set the channel width to auto 20-40 also, seeing as how I have the bandwidth this may increase speeds but wont help with the cutting out. Hopefully n/g only fixes that.

n/g fixed the drop-out issues when I had mine, but it was still really bad range/speeds/signal strength. The new Asus NT-56u is working like a charm though

In my past experience, anything with an Atheros chipset inside has its fair share of wireless glitches. Flashing my DIR-615 with DD-WRT has fixed most of my problems.

Yeah I think this is the year I get a new router. This one has served it's purpose well but newer and better certainly exists.
