I got acouple of questions about the event on the 9th to the 12th.

1. Is there an age restriction, or is anyone free to come?
2. If i leave the event will i have to pack up my computer, or will i be able to leave for the night and come back the next day?

If someone could awnser these it would be awesome.

Here is as far as I am aware.

1. I believe it is an all ages event. (Parent/guardian signatures are most likely required).

2. Frag is also set up so that yes you can leave your computer if you have to leave for any reason. Where as you need ID to match with the Components that are being removed.

I hope this helps. Also, if anyone has any more to add, would be appreciated.

1 - All ages, but under 18 will require consent form completed and signed by a parent/guardian.
2 - If you plan on returning at any point, it is best to leave your system where it is. It will be safe as we will check ID and compare it to the security sticker on your system to ensure that only YOU can remove your machine.

To clarify what Sphincter said in #2:

If you need to leave the event early, you CAN leave with your system, but you can't leave between 10pm and 9am I believe. If you're just leaving for the night, it's fine to just leave your computer where it is. Some people take their peripherals but it really isn't necessarily.

If it is a laptop please be safe and bring it with you when you leave the event. It's too easy to hide something like that in a backpack. Security does their best but they don't always check bags. Better safe than sorry. Another good habit is hiding or bringing peripherals with you when you leave overnight. Wireless mice, keyboards, external HDDs, cameras. Things like this I like to put in a backpack and bring with me or hide under my seat. It also helps to have 1 person from your group sitting in your area at all times. This can be tougher with smaller groups but will dissuade theft. The most common time that things go missing during frag is the Sunday when everyone is packing up so be mindful of that and watch your stuff. Frag is extremely safe considering how much valuable electronics we all bring but it never hurts to be cautious.

Thank, and yeh. It might be hard to find someone to lookout considering this is my first frag. I'll be sure to take my wireless mouse, etc home. Also just another question. I will have to take every think including my chair right? Do I also need and Ethernet cable? Thanks.

Ethernet cable and power supplied. Please bring your own power bar though. Please be cafeful with many devices as we can support only so many computers per circuit (four people per circuit is what we budget power for).

a chair is not necessary as some will be provided at the event, tho a comfortable chair from home is definitely a great idea if you can transport it.

It's all well and good to say that, but really who leaves before lockdown? and then you're stuck trying to smuggle your own laptop out so that no one else can smuggle it out :o

It really is a shame that there are no staff members available that you could arrange this with in advance, so that when you do decide to try and leave with your laptop after lockdown, the process is smooth and pain-free. Oh wait...what is that HUGE table at the front of the venue with all the people wearing STAFF tags?

It is amazing what happens when you plan for things in advance...
